Robin Hood or Wealth Redistribution?

Take a look at this Fox & Friends video clip. There's an interesting exchange between a plumber and Senator Obama, where Senator Obama explains his tax policy. It's plain that Senator Obama's policy is nothing more than pure redistribution of wealth. Check it out:



In case you missed it, the plumber asks Senator Obama whether his tax plan will tax the plumber more. And Senator Obama responds:

It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too. I think that when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

For some reason, I don't think Senator Obama is the new-age Robin Hood; stealing from the undeserving rich and giving to the deserving poor. Instead, I think that his tax policy takes more of a socialist or communist view of wealth redistribution. Guess I should have read Karl Marx a little more closely....
